The Boody DNA
Why everyday basics, sustainably made?
Boody was born from a collective passion, drive and demand for a simpler wardrobe made from sustainable fabrics that supported the everyday lifestyle.
This passion saw two friends, David and Neil on a journey to simply design better basics; both bringing their experience in fashion and pharmacy together to force sustainable change.
Today, Boody is made up of a team of sustainable change makers around the world who all work to not just deliver a product that's better for the planet, but to use Boody as a platform to be real, transparent, open and honest. We owe it to the planet to be better.
Boody emphasizes quality and simplicity. We bypass trends and fads as we believe they lead to overconsumption and waste.
Based in Sydney Australia, our sustainable everyday basics are selling in 15 countries globally and counting.
Boody is slightly more form-fitting which can explain the snug feeling but with this in mind, our products do tend to shape to your body. We do recommend going up a size should you find yourself to be in-between sizes. For our Lounge range however, you may prefer to size down as these are already intended for comfort.
These styles are designed to have an oversized and relaxed fit - perfect to help find your downtime. Go for your usual size if you prefer an oversized look and go down a size for a more snug fit." Our personal recommendation would be if you're in between sizes to size down (rather than up like other Boody products) and if you're going off your size from our undies/leggings the current size would be fine but you could also get away with sizing down for a more "streamlined" look.
Our products are crafted in China, Vietnam or India. We hold all of our suppliers to the highest standards for environmental and labour practices and are proud of how our factory workers are treated, and of the responsible approach we take to manufacturing with minimal environmental impact. All our factories are WRAP Certified, meaning all factory workers are treated ethically, have health care, annual leave and do not use child labour.
Through 1% for the Planet, Boody donates one percent of the value of all online orders to non-profits and associations which drive positive change and help protect our beautiful environment.
Our accredited manufacturing partners have been selected wisely after a long and careful process to ensure that our values and ethics are translated throughout the entire production process. We looked for factories that have a long term commitment to quality, the wellbeing of their workers and who can also guarantee a reduced footprint on the environment.
We are committed to producing high-quality products, with a focus on sustainable materials and practices. Our bamboo is EcoCert
certified, which means that Boody's bamboo is grown organically using no fertilisers or pesticides, and without any irrigation – just rainwater. Find out more about our bamboo here
The wellbeing of our workers is extremely important to us at Boody. Our factories are accredited by Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP) to guarantee and promote lawful, human and ethical conditions for workers in the textile industry. You can read more about WRAP certification here
We recommend a warm machine wash with similar colours, using a gentle bio-degradable detergent. Boody can be dried in the sun however in order to best colours vivid, we'd say to dry your beloved items in the shade. If you need to tumble dry, please use the lowest setting, or set to 'delicates'. Iron on a low setting, do not dry clean.
While hand washing is ideal, a gentle machine wash and spin is best to preserve the original aspect of our Padded Shaper Crop Bra. We recommend that you ditch the clothes dryer as the heat will break down any elastics and can simply cause dimpling in your padding. For these reasons, we also recommend that you simply take out removable padding before washing.
Our undies can take a few washes before panty liners stick to them - generally 3 - 8!
